What We Do

We are a NON-PROFIT group of dedicated Working Dog enthusiasts, who train in dog obedience, tracking, and protection for sport. Our club is registered as non-profit, and part of the national club, the German Shepherd Schutzhund Club of Canada. We host an annual club trial, and travel to other hosting clubs to compete. Our goal is to train, title, and compete with our canine partners in Club Trials, Regional Events, and one day, perhaps the Nationals!

GERMAN SHEPHERD SCHUTZHUND CLUB OF CANADA, GSSCC IGP/Schutzhund Sport:

"IGP, or International Gebrauchshund Prufung = International Working / Practical Dog Test, is a three-part sport which includes Tracking, Obedience and Protection phases – the dog must pass all three phases in the trial. To succeed in the protection aspect of the sport, the successful IPO candidate must possess a basic level of instinctual drives, solid nerves, desire, and willingness to perform the work with their handler. There are three levels/titles, IGP1, IGP2, and IGP3. All IGP trials are held under GSSCC rules, (German Shepherd Schutzhund Club of Canada)".
